Benefit


In the classical AEB setup two completely equipped robot vehicles are needed with a steering, braking and accelerator robot in each car. The simplified approach utilizes the existing online communication between the cars to generate the reference line for the VUT out of the realtime positions of the target vehicle.

With this Automatic Target Following there is no need for a steering robot in the target anymore! If the vehicle's own cruise control can be used the robot installation for the target vehicle is cut down to only one brake robot!

For the online communication between the two cars we recommend the long range Inter Robot Communication IRC system.
